Job Purpose:
To initiate and drive through the sales process for selling delegates places and sponsorship to potential clients, through defined, objective driven activity based plans in order to achieve pre-determined revenue and profit targets whilst ensuring relationships are built with new and existing customers. Gain competence in all aspects of the sales process including urgency, sales pitch creation, qualifying the right prospects, time management, handling objections, reaching decision makers and closing.
Key Performance Indicators:
• Achievement of sales revenue / event targets – sponsorship
• Achievement of sales revenue / event targets – delegate sales
• No of calls made per day per event
• Effective use of the Database Management System
• Time of call duration (measured against pre determined criteria)
• Effective coordination with the marketing and conference production teams
• Growth of existing events by generating new ideas
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Sales
• Drive growth through the achievement of sales revenue / profit targets – sponsorship and delegate sales
• Build strong relationships with current and potential clients both pre and post event
• Effectively convert inquiries into sales
General
• Continually monitor and research the market
• Identify competitive events where appropriate
• Database clean and build
• Completion of weekly sales reports
• Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility
Registration
• Registration of all delegates
• Ensure collection of payments by regular communication and coordination with the
Accounts department
Person Specification
Minimum Education Level Required:
• Educated to high school certificate standard or equivalent
Background Knowledge and Experience
Essential
• 2 years in a business environment
• Minimum of 1 year sales experience
• Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Speaks clearly and fluently in English
• Numerate

• Spoken Arabic
• Related industry knowledge
